Here it is! My Finisher Certificate for Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 which was held last Sunday, February 6, 2011.

Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 - Marathon Photos.Com Pics

The organizers of the Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 announced few weeks ago that the official photographer of the race will be Marathon Photos.com. Many runners reacted that this photo provider is expensive and free pics are not in good resolution comparing to Photovendo.ph.

Well, the pics now from Marathon.com which was released today proved that the initial reactions of the experienced runners were true, the pics resolution are downgraded and when you resize, the picture will become blurred. And also the purchase price per picture is so high! And last, there is almost no photos per runner.

Comparing to Photovendo.ph, they give better resolution free copy of pics or when to save as picture the file, you can get a good pic already, also the purchase price is way cheaper and there are normally a lot f shots per runner, just make sure your bib number is visible while running.

Well, we have a lot of post-race pictures using our own digital cameras, so we are happy already with that. No more sour-graping or complaints about the free race photos. Just see it for yourself :-)

Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 - My Finish Time

The unofficial and partial race results of the Condura Skyway Marathon which was held yesterday, February 6, 2011 were already out!

For me, it is already official because the gun time reflected in their result coincide with the time when I crossed the finish line. And also the chip time which is around 3-4 minutes differential is correct because of the wave start the organizers implemented.

So here it is, my gun time finish is 2:22:16 while my chip time finish is 2:18:38. The official basis of time is the Chip time because of the wave start, meaning not all runners started upon gun start but in wave or group start.

The Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 was held this morning, February 6, 2011. This is my first race this year and my first half marathon (21Km).

I registered an unofficial time of 2 hours and 22 minutes, not so bad but my toe nails suffered a lot!
For sure I will have a hard time walking in the next days. But this is part of the sport, no pain no gain as they say.

I am happy with my race time considering of the lack to sufficient training and proper nutrition prior to race day.

I am looking for more races soon!

Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 - Race day Tomorrow

It's 9PM, February 5th 2011. I should be off to bed now because tomorrow is the big day for Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 but I just arrived from school about an hour ago, had my dinner and now doing some final preparations for an early wake up call tomorrow, or in a few hours from now.

But I guess as my previous runs, I will not have a good and deep sleep tonight, normally I have butterflies in my stomach if I am into a big event. Especially this time that I will be running my first half marathon or the 21 km event.

As a busy and stressed out life, I am hoping that I will have a good run tomorrow, I am targeting sub 3 hours finish time for my first 21K run. This is a high target considering a low training and the accumulated stress if work, school and personal life.

Let God be our guide in the roads of our lives!

D-tag Installation for Condura Skyway Marathon 2011

Today I received this e-mail from Condura Skyway Marathon Secretariat, it contained the D-Tag Timing Chip Installation guide. I converted it to JPEG format so that I can embed here in my post.

 

Proper installation of the D-tag will ensure accurate recording of the runner's time.

My Most Expensive Hershey's Chocolate Bar

My Race Kit for Condura Skyway Marathon 2011

For my personal record, so far of my 28 years of existence, I bought a Hershey's chocolate bar for Php 1, 275.00! Insane maybe but this is for a noble cause because part of the amount will go to the Dolphins of Bohol - the dolphin capital of the Philippines.

Aside from that, the event was being organized by Condura. It is the 4th year of their Skway Marathon for the benefit of the dolphins and other marine sanctuaries in the Philippines.

My first half marathon race

The Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 on February 6, 2011 will be my first 21k race or the half-marathon category. I have not trained that much due to my loaded schedule at work and at law school.

But with the help of God and my ever trusted legs and feet, I believe that the finish line will not fail me.

Common now, let's eat my most expensive Hershey's chocolate! Yummy!
